Value added agricultural is a measure of adding value to the primary agricultural commodities. In today’s global economy characterized by fierce competition, it is becoming extremely difficult for agricultural producers to focus solely on producing primary commodities and still expect to realize a decent standard of living. Adding value to agriculture is a logical way to stem the decline in farm income.

Due to the lack of proper sources of income, migration has always been a major problem in the state of Uttarakhand. VAPAS focuses on providing increased income source to the youth of Uttarakhad engaged in agricultural activities with an aim to decrease the migration of youth from their villages.

In order to achieve its target the Foundation has prepared a blue-print which involves introduction of organic farming with high yields, specialized products with higher value, storage facilities, packaging and assisting the farmers in marketing their produce.
