voting campaignThe voting percentage in India has declined due to passive role of voters in recent times. U Turn Foundation felt a need to make the people aware of their voting rights and to motivate them to vote. In year 2012 UTF participated in voting awareness campaign organized by Dehradun District Administration. The foundation was felicitated by ex-DM Mr. Dilip Jawalkar for commendable contribution to the campaign.

This year U Turn Foundation has been engaged in online as well as grass root campaigns to spread the important message of Vote’s usage in upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly Election. Today U Turn team went to Deep Nagar area and talked to the slum dwellers about the importance of right usage of their votes for the welfare of their communities. The locals were completely in agreement with the U Turn team and signed pledge to cast their votes.

‘For a Democracy It is of paramount importance that voters used their voting rights and do not let their votes go to waste. We are thankful to the public of Dehradun for supporting our campaigns. We appeal to citizens of Uttarakhand to make right usage of their votes in upcoming elections ’, said Jaya Kumar, President, U Turn Foundation.

The campaign was successfully coordinated by Smita Rakesh, Mohan Dobhal, Kanchan Negi, Manoj, Vikas and Sita.
